Orientation programme for Business Unit Heads (BUHs) has been arranged from 1st March, 2023 for three weeks (half day afternoon sessions daily) with an objective to familiarize them with all the important aspects of managing the issues arising from time to time. The programme covers various aspects of role and responsibilities of BUHs, statutory responsibilities, issues and compliances related to different Commissions, Establishment & Monitoring of Project, Laws/acts related to Factory act, IBR, Environment, ID Act, Change Management, External Stake-holder Management, Corporate Governance, CSR, DOP, contract closing, DRC, Land acquisition, Vigilance, RTI, safety and new and emerging technologies. Faculty included experts from various government bodies and NTPC.
CMD and Director(HR) interacted with the participants in the presence of REDs. CMD in his address emphasized the importance of management of site safety, different requirements of project management and operational management, contract management, dispute resolution mechanism and expenditure control mechanisms. He also suggested the review of NTPC policies by the superannuated senior officials of NTPC.
Director (HR) in his address spoke about the importance of BUH training as BUH role changes significantly from the Head of O&M role and suggested contributing personally to the development of subordinates. He emphasized the need for refurbishing the ET hostels and township maintenance as more than 870 ETs will be joining soon.
This programme will close on 27th March, 2023 with a session on CLRA act and Factories act by renowned academician, Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi, from XLRI.
